SIRENS IN THE SILENCE

Updated: Jan 30, 2023

As I drift to sleep⁣⁣ I hear sirens ⁣ in the distance⁣⁣ Feels like hours ⁣ until they fade⁣⁣ into the abyss⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ The last gasp, ⁣ then silence⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Prayers now ⁣ fill the space⁣⁣ In between my dreams⁣⁣ I grieve and grieve⁣⁣ I breathe and breathe⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Another siren, ⁣⁣ another person called⁣⁣ to the other side⁣⁣ to fight this war⁣⁣ One we didn’t ask for⁣⁣ And yet it’s destined⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ A rebirth of a nation ⁣⁣ requires angels ⁣⁣ beyond the thin veil⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ We need more of them ⁣⁣ than they need us⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Trust this moment⁣⁣ Trust is a moment⁣⁣ Trust us in this moment⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Trust ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ This was here long ago⁣⁣ we were too afraid⁣⁣ or too asleep⁣⁣ or too awake⁣⁣ to look in the mirror⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Our destiny ⁣ is reflected back,⁣ our life ⁣⁣ all along ⁣⁣ was the trap⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Tap, tap, ⁣⁣ Tap, tap⁣⁣ Another siren, ⁣⁣ another last breath⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ The old way ⁣ has now died⁣⁣ love has risen,⁣⁣ first breath⁣⁣ of a new life⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Do you hear ⁣ the sirens within you⁣⁣ calling forward ⁣ the true you ⁣⁣ in the silence?⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Tap, tap⁣⁣ Tap, tap⁣⁣ We are here.⁣⁣
